Reposm helps sportspeople from a multitude of sporting backgrounds. In this case study, we hear about how a couple lost everything after an investment went wrong. Reposm stepped in to help them get back on track:

A Midlands couple were in their 60s. The husband spent over 30 years in his particular sport. In the 90s they invested their savings in a business. Sadly in 2008, it failed and they became homeless. Now living in poor rented accommodation. Their own family dispersed over the UK and Australia.

Mike Soper says “ I mentioned Reposm to them and the chance of sheltered accommodation in the South of England. They said to quote them “ We would bite your hand off for the chance”. Whilst many sports do assist retired sportspeople with welfare programmes, none of them provides Sheltered Housing.

It is well documented that an increasing number of retired sportspeople are suffering from dementia. And much has been written about the lack of action being taken across the sporting landscape to combat – or trying to prevent this pernicious disease.

Here at Reposm, we are trying to change that and support our sporting community who are experiencing firsthand, living with dementia. loom.ly/tsJtvww

Did you know that the model for our charity originally came from a charity that supported retired artists, authors, artists and craft persons by providing them with sheltered housing?

You can read more about how our Chairman, Michael Soper, took his inspiration from the Cyril Wood Memorial Trust here: reposm.org.uk/2018/09/
